Klondike Concert
Yesterday was awesome! Mom and I went to the Klondike concert and had such a great time. First of all, we parked on the Beaver Plaza parking lot, and we were going to get the bus to the field. The linup for that bus was HUGE so we decided to walk. Probably not such a good idea as I was wearing sandals! By the time I got there my feet were killing me, and I have a large blister in the same spot on both of my feet!!
The crowd at the field was massive. We met up with a couple of people that we know and they told us that the end of the line for the admission gate was all the way down to Kelly's Landing!!!! We went up to a volunteer and sure enough he told us that it didn't matter if we already had a ticket, we still had to go to the end of the line. We were not impressed at all. Apparently there had been people lined up since 8 in the morning. The line was so long and moving so slowly that people were missing the concert just trying to get in. We were going to go to the end of the line but I said it was pointless. We would end up missing the acts we'd come to see, so we went back with the people we know and were trying to figure out a way to get in.
Then, a miracle happened!!! We heard a siren and they blocked the line so that a fire truck could get through. So, badasses that we are, we went up to the front part of the line and totally cut in and got inside withing five minutes!!!! I felt horrible that we cut and got in before some people who had been waiting for ages and ages, but we paid our money too! It was horribly organized and there were many people complaining. Anyway...
We missed all of Jason Greeley and most of Theresa Sokyrka, but I managed to get a few pics of her. Then Kalan Porter came on. Holy crap, he is the tiniest man I have ever seen! He was so cute and his hair was awesome! All bouncy and curly :) And he put on a cowboy hat! So cute. He sounded really good and he's an amazing fiddle player. We got a bunch of pics of him as well.
Next was Jason McCoy. I'm really glad we got to see him. He gives an awesome show. Sounds just the same as on the radio, and he's so much better looking in person then on tv! He had the crowd going wild!
Then, the man I went to see!! Jacob came on. I'll admit that I was screaming a bit with the chickies!! (lol) His band Hedley is amazing. All four of the guys were super good looking. I took a full roll of film of just them! He was just as crazy in person as he was on Canadian Idol...sticking out his ass and doing his crazy arm movements while he sang. I was in heaven! (lol)
We left after that and came home. I'm sunburned so badly. The volunteers were spraying the crowd with hoses to cool them off and my chest got wet and burned. I can't wait for the redness to dull down a little so I can have a bit of a tan!
Well, that concludes my exciting day! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Take care.
