Life and such
It seems since I finished work on Friday I haven't stopped having things to do! I'm not complaining though, I love being busy when I'm off work. It's better than sitting around the house!
There was some sadness though. On Wednesday, the 21st, my pop Russell in Bay Robert's (nan's second husband) passed away. He was 92 years old. I remember when Chris and I were little and we'd go visit him and my nan and before we'd leave to go home he'd reach into the fridge and give us an apple and an orange each, every single time. And he'd give us pennies he had rolled, haha. And he always called me Bonanza, never Amanda. And as we were going out the door I always had to go back and give him a big hug and kiss, he'd be saying where's my kiss. When I was in Kindergarten he'd drive me to school every day and come pick me up when it was over. He looked so different at the funeral home and his hands were so cold but his skin was so soft. I miss him.
On Saturday we were supposed to do the Relay for Life (cancer walk) but the rain was pouring from the sky. It was crazy. I bought a new umbrella and we got there and I opened it and literally two minutes later the wind blew and flipped it inside out and broke it! Honestly! We went long enough to give them our money that we'd collected and then we left again and we were drenched.
I went to Laurie's baby shower last night and she had Olivia there. What a cutie. She's six months old but she's only nine pounds eleven ounces. I couldn't believe how small she was. She had a shaky start being born three months early but she's doing well now. Laurie passed her around for everyone to hold and I didn't want to give her back! I have baby fever! Haha!
Tonight I went to Carbonear to see the movie The Lake House with Andrew and J. It was a good movie but a bit confusing. I think I have it figured out but when it comes to DVD I think I'll rent it and watch it again. Now that I know what happens I think it'll be easier to follow.
Tomorrow I'm off to Western Bay with Doodle (Paul) because he has a visit with his nan. Then the next day is my birthday! Yay! It's so hard to believe that it's here already. 26, yikes, 30 is calling. Oh my! On Saturday I think we're going to Ryan and Terri's for a BBQ and then on Sunday a bunch of us are going out for supper to celebrate my birthday. So much to do, and I love it! B gave me my birthday presents when he was out last weekend and among them were beautiful wine glasses and a bottle of champagne. I think when he gets out this weekend we'll have a toast to me! :)
Oh my, I think that's it from me for now. I've been long winded tonight! Take care everyone. I hope your summer started off lovely.
